Dedicated pod

Also: Dedicated team, Embedded squad

In one sentence

What is Dedicated pod?

A dedicated pod is a small, stable Eazyware team of engineers assigned to one client on a monthly retainer, working from the client's backlog rather than a fixed project scope.

What Dedicated pod means

A dedicated pod is typically two to five people: AI or full-stack engineers, sometimes a designer, with a named lead who runs planning and reporting. The pod works only for you, attends your stand-ups, ships to your repositories and follows your release process. You set priorities; we supply the people and the delivery discipline.

Commercially it is a monthly retainer, which makes it a form of time and materials with a predictable bill. The pod runs in two-week sprints with a written backlog, a demo at the end of each sprint and a monthly report on what shipped, what it cost and what is next. Pods usually follow a fixed-price program such as Launch 6 when a product has launched and now needs continuous development.

A pod is not a staffing agency placement. We keep the team stable, cover absences from within Eazyware, and hold the engineering standards ourselves rather than leaving them to whoever is available. It is also not a substitute for a Care Plan: a pod builds new capability, while a Care Plan keeps a delivered system healthy.

Who it really matters to

  • CTO / Head of Engineering: you get senior AI engineering capacity without a six-month hiring cycle, and you keep control of the backlog.
  • Founder / CEO: the retainer converts to a fixed monthly line, and the engagement can scale up or wind down with notice.
  • Product manager: the pod behaves like an in-house squad, so roadmap changes do not need a change request.
  • HR head: pods reduce the pressure to recruit scarce AI specialists for work that may not be permanent.

Why it exists

Dedicated pods exist because a launched product does not stop needing engineers, but the work after launch is a roadmap rather than a project and cannot be sensibly fixed-priced. Hiring an in-house AI team takes months and the specialists are scarce; freelancers lack continuity. A pod gives a stable team that learns your codebase and stays. The trade-off is that you own prioritisation and the outcome depends on the quality of your backlog. We mitigate that with a pod lead who challenges priorities and reports burn against shipped value every month.

Where it is applied

  • A B2B SaaS company running a pod to extend its in-app copilot across new modules after the initial six-week build.
  • A FinTech keeping a pod on its lending platform to add document types and adjust to changing RBI expectations.
  • A logistics company with a pod maintaining and extending its dispatch engine and field apps as it enters new cities.
  • A healthcare provider using a pod to roll a voice agent out to additional departments and languages over a year.
  • An ed-tech company with a pod building adaptive-learning features term by term.

Is Dedicated pod a skill?

Eazyware programAn Eazyware engagement format rather than a skill: a retained team on a monthly retainer, usually following a fixed-price program once a product is live. The team composition and monthly cost are agreed per client; see the pricing page for how pods are structured.

Frequently asked questions

How is a dedicated pod different from hiring contractors?

The pod is a stable, managed team with a lead who owns delivery quality and reporting. We cover absences, hold engineering standards and keep the same people on your code, rather than placing individuals and stepping away.

What is the minimum commitment for a pod?

Pods are monthly retainers with a notice period rather than a long lock-in. We agree the team size, the monthly fee and the notice terms up front, and you can scale the pod up or down as the roadmap changes.
